Kaddu or lauki halwa or Kheer is occasionally made on festivals or fasting days.
In our family we make Tahri and yellow pumpkin halwa on Basant Panchami.

Ingredients:-
- 1kg yellow pumpkin
- 1tbsp sugar or to taste
- 2tbsp grated mawa
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1tsp cardamom powder
- 3tbsp desi ghee
- 2tbsp chopped nuts
Recipe procedur:-
- Peel wash and grate the pumpkin.
- Heat ghee in a pan add pumpkin fry until all the moisture evaporates.
- Lower the heat and cook another couple of minutes.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder stir and mix. Cook, as the sugar melts and mixture gets thickened add maca and nuts
- Mix well cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Switch off the gas.
- Garnish and serve hot.
Note:-
- You can fry the nuts before adding.
- You can add jaggry besides sugar.
- You can add milk powder instead of mawa.
- Make sure there is no water in the halwa.
